Let Tim know that now I too have been hit by a car while on my bike… Arrgh!
Almost 5 hours in ER and right knee cap is fractured, got a knee immobilizer but it is way too big for me! Left leg’s Proxima fibula is fractured too.
My right shoulder hurts the most and my left foot and then all the bruises, abrasions and hematomas. Tomorrow a friend from Church will drive the one hour with us, to the next city’s Ortho Georgia. My same orthopedic surgeon that saw me for my closed dbl pelvic bone fracture in 2018. Trust him far more than the local hospital…
Pieter biked right behind me and saw me being T–boned by that woman in a Lexus.
I was worried about Pieter due to his heart condition.
He got a ride with the Fire Truck and they also loaded up both of our E-bikes to drop him off at home. Pieter came to the ER but I sent him home to prepare his supper as it takes forever in the ER till they get x-ray results. They cleaned up my abrasions with hydrogen peroxide and a Q–tip checken if I had no open fracture. Nope, so they let me go home by 8:00 PM after about 5 hrs being there… Almost fainted from pain, getting from wheelchair into our car. Then up the stairs to the front door with Pieter behind me and holding me upright. Glad I reached our bathroom for using the toilet… then supper and late in bed. Bad night due to pain and I cannot use pain meds due to my severe kidney stage.
But I’m alive and grateful I wore a helmet. Tomorrow we know more…

Bloody hell you are damn lucky to be alive you are in for a lot of pain and difficult times all you can do is take it one day at a time
