DIPROTODON

Hey it is Tuesday so it is giants of the past time, this week it is the “diprotodon” heard of it? Me neither………….

Picture a wombat the size of a small car, with a length of four metres and weighing about three tonnes with thick limbs and a big belly, with strong front teeth for eating plants and shrubs. It would be just a tad smaller then a hippopotamus.

They could be found all over Australia, coexisting with the Aboriginals.

WEEK 26 OF 2022

Another good night up at 5am and now washed and dressed for the day.

Leo slept here last night.

Had an ok day Kelli turned up to put me to bed and had Kirsty with her she is down from Qld for a visit. It was good seeing her.

Gave Freya the box of pavement chalk for her birthday.

Had a good night but found myself awake by 4.30am. I cleaned the kitchen before I rang Tasha.

Rang the hospital about referral to see orthopaedic specialist I am still on the waiting list been on it since October 2018.

Another pretty good day be it a painful day but good as well. I answered 2 letters from penpals.

A new day is here and I am doing ok, had a good night after a rough start, laid down and found I couldn’t breathe due to a blocked nose, applied some Vicks chest rub to under my nose and I was ok. Then found my mouth super dry so needed to get up and have a drink. After that I settled down.

Cold and wet today, Leo laid in front of the heater and went to sleep, till it was time to go to school.

Tim on late start today, taking the car due to how bloody cold it is.

Woke at 4.30 to pee couldn’t see the point in going back to bed so stayed up.

Tim came home early last night due to an incident at work with a fare evader who in the past has threaten to punch his face in. The cops turned up after a half hour wait and got the two girls off the bus. He is of work today due to stress.

Feeling like I need to talk to mum. Sue came and gave me a hug, I gave her 4 books.

Last day of June and another cold one as well.

Sent Tasha a text for help and she didn’t reply so I rang her after 40 minutes and I was in a mood as I felt ignored. She came down and we had a moment as in argument but sorted it out and hugged before she left.

No school as there is a teachers strike

Did grocery shopping took a while to get Coles website to load when it did I managed to get online I had no problem till it was time to check out. It took half a dozen or more attempts before it worked. Tim rang Coles online to complain.

Ended up having a good day

First day of July and the last day of school for 2 weeks.

Forgot to mention yesterday that Sydney stayed home alone all day for the first time. Kathy said she was ok but wouldn’t want to do it all the time. I have always liked being home alone.

Tim is off today.

A wet day, so I wasn’t able to go up with Leo.

Dave turned up with food to see me and have lunch, it was great seeing him.

A POEM

Pain Of A Broken Heart

© Erika

Published: December 2007

Tears of blood fall from my broken heart.
I never thought we would be apart.

When you held me, you said “forever.”
Now that you’re gone, I know you meant “never.”

Saying you love me with that look in your eye,
And that was a cold-hearted lie.

Your tender touch, a soft kiss,
Two things about you I will miss.

As I sit here thinking about you,
My face is wet with tears past due.

I should’ve cried a long time ago,
But I loved you so.

I know they say love is blind,
But I had only you on my mind.

A hurt so deep it cuts like a knife,
But wounds heal and I’ll go on with my life.

MARSUPIAL LION

Gpod morning everyone, yes it is morning here but maybe not there were you are. Today’s giant of the past is the Marsupial Lion, this lion use to roam Australia way back when, like thousands of years ago.

It was the size of a leopard, with fierce sharp claws and teeth designed to slice through flesh and bone. It was our most powerful predator.

The marsupial lion was between the size of a jaguar and lioness, growing to be about 5 feet long from nose to tail, 2.5 feet tall (75 cm) at the shoulder, and an estimated average of 100 to 130 kg (220 lb to 285lb.

WEEK 25 OF 2022

Another mostly good night and a struggle when I got up, Tim helped me a bit.

Still a lot of knee pain but Leo is a big help. Not up to doing much at all, including getting myself food.

Kelli arrived around 2pm to settle me down for the night, damn I am glad to see her.

Had a rough start to the night but managed to settle after a bit and had a good night in the end.

Rang Tasha at 5am just to see if she was home yet, she came down in a mood and got my breakfast. Kathy came in and helped me dress before heading home.

I understand that she must feel that she isn’t home 1 minute when I am needing her help.

Didn’t take Leo up the front as it is too wet.

Been a so so day with pain and struggle.

Had a somewhat restless night but I got through it somehow, woke at 4.45 and up at 5am. Struggled to get dressed but did it with tears.

My knee is still bad but I managed to do a few little things before the pain got too bad.

I need to take more care bringing the scooter inside as yet again I nearly tumbled of the ramp.

Had a good night woke at 4.15 to pee but wasn’t able to settle again so up at 4.45. Another cold day.

Took some Celecoxib (anti-inflammatory) for my knee and it has helped.

Sandy came over to pick up some forms we printed for her and it was great seeing her.

Had a good night and woke with very little pain, I am also wearing nice earrings since I am going to see the neurologist.

Sydney-May came home from camp sick with RSV so is off school I expect until Monday. Kathy said she is pretty sick.

Had a good trip to Sydney and home again. We took the wheelchair this time instead of the scooter. Which was better.

The visit went better then expected. She said I have a Dystonic tremor and has prescribed some tablets to try and if they don’t work maybe botox injection into my neck may help. She couldn’t say why I have no strength or why I feel like my feet are clued to the ground when I try to walk.

Had a good nights sleep it took a bit to settle last night but when I did I slept till 3.45am when then till 5.15 when I got up. I am feeling not the best.

I have improved through the day not feel too bad at the moment.

At 11.30 a bloke arrived and removed the two cupboard damaged when the tree came though the roof.

Jess suppose to get me ready for bed but forgot about me and just left for work. I will get myself ready for bed, this I can do slowly and often with pain but I can do it. Leo will help me into bed.

Saturday again and Tim is working today as they are short staffed. I just realised yesterday was my niece Freya’s 4th birthday silly me forgot. Also today is Micheal’s birthday, I sent him a text wishing happy birthday, only to realise I was a month early, silly me.

A good day pain wise, Leo here all day supporting me.

I have to get myself ready for bed but Leo will help me into bed

WEEK 24 OF 2022

Tim back at work today after over a week off, hope all goes well for him.

Leo turned up at 10ish so I was able to sit in my armchair with the knowledge that he was here to help.

Wrote one letter but decorated a small pile of envelopes ready for letters.

It’s a public holiday this Monday

to celebrate the Queen’s birthday,so no school today.

I managed to drag the quilt of of the washing machine and put in the dryer, also managed to get the sheets out of the washing machine. I got the quilt out and sheets into the dryer.

I also managed to empty the bins but can’t get outside to place in those bins.

I started to place photo albums and some books into a storage container as I am sick of asking for someone to do it.

Tasha brought me some cupcakes chocolate and lemon meringue. Had the chocolate one and it was yummy.

Had a shit night very restless and shaking had to get up and take something to help me settle.

I had a spat with Tasha over my appointment to have the ultrasound. Tim drove me to the appointment.

I went with Tasha to the chemist to get cold tablets, this involved me walking without my walker. Tasha said I looked terrified.

Had a better night last night still up at 5.05am, washed and ready for the day. It is only 7 degrees and I have been sweating.

A reasonable day spent doing bugga all but managed to drag myself out of my armchair until 1.30pm when doing so hurt my left arm.

Been awake since 3am and up since 4.20am due to pain in my arms and shaking all over. When I laid on either side my arm would start to hurt, laying on my back caused my legs to shake. So a rough start to the day.

It has been a rough day, Tasha has gone away on her own for a few days,so I will have to manage on my own.

Jess getting me dressed for bed and Leo will put me into bed. I hope I sleep better tonight.

Slept better had to have something to help settled at 11.30pm which worked, I went back to sleep pretty quick. No fruit this morning as I am in no condition to divide it up.

Had another hard day with horrible stinging pain in my left knee.

Leo helping me into bed again today.

Had another pretty good night waking only twice. However, this morning I was crying in the bathroom due to pain and shaking and feeling useless. Tim heard me and came to help, he also made my breakfast, while I stood around crying.

Been a rough day had a lot of stinging pain in my knee again.

Tim acts as if I am a bloody lot of hard work and often talks to me in nasty degrading way, I don’t think he knows he is doing it.
