DRAGONFLY

Hello Tuesday, you’re wet again but that’s ok we need rain, now this weeks extreme creature is the dragonfly.

The dragonfly is one of the fastest flying insects in the world, with the larger species capable of speeds of up to 70km/h. It’s also incredibly nimble in the air, it can hover, fly in zigzags and go backwards.

Adult dragonflies are characterised by a pair of large, multifaceted compound eyes, two pairs of strong, transparent wings, sometimes with coloured patches, and an elongated body. They have a lifespan of 7-56 days.

Dragonflies come in all sorts of colours like yellow, red, brown, and blue; sometimes the wings have brown spots and bands. Male damselflies typically have iridescent wings and some type of colourful blue, green, or purple body, while the females usually have a golden brown colour, even on their wings.

Who eats them? Just about everything. Birds, especially the more acrobatic flyers such as flycatchers, swallows, kingfishers, falcons and kites, eat countless dragonflies, while spiders, praying mantids, robber flies and even early-emerging bats will dine on dragonflies as well. FACTS

Good morning world, I am doing better then I did yesterday for some reason yesterday morning I was in a right mood. Internet wasn’t working and my concentration was shocking, but today I am ok. Anyway it’s Monday and that means it is fact day.

Leonardo’s painting, Mona Lisa is the most famous object on Earth but it’s not insured. No one can afford the premiums………..

If each count was a second long, it would take about 12 days to count to a million and 32yrs to count to a billion.

The words for the American national anthem “Star Spangled Banner” were written by Francis Scott Key but the tune was originally from an ancient Greek drinking song called “Anacrean in Heaven.

The word “girl” appears only once in the Bible.

It is or was illegal to say “Oh Boy” in Jonesboro, Georgia

WEEK 5 OF 2022

MUM’S BIRTHDAY SHE WOULD BE 82

After a rough start to the night with me being somewhat impaired I ended up having a decent nights sleep.

Really tired all day at 9.30 I went for a lay down the next thing I knew it was 11am.

Did bugga all today

30-1-22

Slept in this morning till 5.30am rang Tasha straight away and she was in a rush. She is doing the traffic controller course, over the next few days. At 8am Tasha walked in the course has been cancelled today.

Kelli drove me over to the cemetery, then we went and picked up RAT tests from the schools, Leo was given two both Blain & Daemon received four each.

I wonder how long before parents of young and special needs children decide it is too big a battle and stop doing it. They are nasal swab tests.

I give it a month.

Tim has a late arvo start.

31-1-22

Had a good night awake at 4.30 up at 4.50 washed, dressed and ready for the day.

Sandy came over to drop off a heap of photos from mum & Dad’s place for me to go through. She was here a while.

Sydney-May’s first day of high school, I hope it goes well.

A stinking hot day, air con going all day.

1-2-22

First day of school for Leo and Blain, Brian was late getting here to get Leo it was 8.25 which may not seem late but was expecting him around 8.10, so I rang and ask Kelli if she knew if Jess had checked with Brian that he was getting Leo, she had.

Sandy called in to pick something up and we had a chat about Dawson and Michelle, she has been given a place in Windale brand new and dirt cheap. She knows how to work the system.

Tasha is doing her white card course, I do not know what a white card is, just know she needs it to do traffic control work.

2-2-22

Woke at 4am needing to pee got up at 4.20 by the time Tasha arrived I was drenched in sweat and it isn’t hot or even warm in fact it is somewhat cool.

Did a lot of crying today, in fact I would say I have been an emotional wreck today.

So many things I want to do but haven’t been able to do anything much.

3-2-22

4.45 saw me roll out of bed and I do in fact roll out of bed using the momentum of rolling to get up.

A cool wet day pretty much all day.

Tasha has workmen at her place all day, no idea why.

Had a good day till 5pm when I was in tears again, why I don’t really know. All I could think was I don’t want to die, I just want to be better.

It is now 6.30 and I am going to bed.

4-2-22

I got up when Kathy texted me she was on her way, I got things ready for my shower and opened the house up.

Kathy arrived showered me, made my breaky and did some housework for me.

Kerbside bulk waste collection from Monday so Tim busy taking stuff up the front. Kelli & Jono also taking a lot shit out for it.

Kelli & Jono started looking and applying for rental places.

POEM DAY

Harlem

Langston HughesBy Langston Hughes More Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?

      Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
      Or fester like a sore—
      And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
      Or crust and sugar over—
      like a syrupy sweet?

      Maybe it just sags
      like a heavy load.

      Or does it explode?

SAILFISH

Good morning all here we are at Tuesday again and we are only in February.

This weeks extreme creature is the Sailfish, this is the worlds fastest fish with a shape that is perfect for moving fast through the water. It has been clocked at a top speed of 110km/h.

The largest sailfish ever caught was 11.2 feet (340 cm) long and weighed 220.5 pounds (100 kg). 4. Sailfish can live for 13 to 15 years. However, sailfish caught and released by sport fishermen have an average lifespan of only 4 to 5 yrs

The all-tackle world record for a sailfish caught in the Pacific: 221 pounds (Ecuador, 1947); for a sailfish from the Atlantic: 142 pounds, 6 ounces (Angola, 2014). Iconic for their distinctive high, blue dorsal fins, sailfish generally live offshore but near coasts, often over deeper reefs.

FACTS WEEK 4

Good morning world and what a morning it has been, no idea why I said that. Anyway it is now Monday the first day of the school week, although the kids don’t return till tomorrow or Wednesday.

Now to this weeks facts.

The saying “often a bridesmaid, never a bride” comes from an advertisement for Listerine mouthwash.

Earth’s atmosphere is proportionally thinner than the skin of an apple.

There are over 50,000 earthquakes on Earth each year.

A pineapple is a berry.

Only one person in two billions will live to be 116 or older.

WEEK 4 OF 2022

I woke when Tim’s alarm went off at 4.30 and was out of bed at 5am. Been a bloody long time since Tim started work so early.

I had a decent enough day.

23-1-22

Awake and up at 4.50 I think. Made the mistake of mentioning to Tasha that her dad said she left him an abusive message, which set her off. I read the messages between them not abusive in my opinion.

Had to wake Tim at 9.40am which is odd not like him to need waking of morning.

My arms started hurting around 1pm which is better then all day, I guess.

24-1-22

Woke at 3.30 to pee without issue then again at 5am when I got up for the day.

The pain in my left arm is not good today. I feel like the injection hasn’t helped.

Managed to fill in a few pages of the grandmother memory book. Some pages I skipped because it is an American book, and we don’t have Thanksgiving or Halloween.

Around 1.45 I decided to have a shower, this didn’t go well. I use a bath-board which is a board that sit across the top of the bath that I sit on. Well as I was sitting my feet slipped and the board slid backwards and I ended up in the bath in an awkward position. I wasn’t alone Tasha was there but getting me into a standing position wasn’t easy. I have now hurt my arms more.

TIM’S BIRTHDAY HE IS 61

Up and ready for the day at 5.15 after a reasonable nights sleep.

However, late yesterday arvo Kelli and an issue with the bitch in unit 14. She said to Freya who is only 3yrss old that if she went on her lawn she would flog her, so Kelli went to speak to the bitch who pulled a club on Kelli. So Kelli rang the cops, I will find out more later in the day.

So Tasha & Kelli went to the cop shop about the psychobitch and there is little that can be done they suggested mediation but the bitch will not do that.

I am in a shit load of pain, both arms and knees and now the lower right side of my back.

26-1-22

A new day has arrived and I am in slightly less pain as it starts.

I have decided to try eating the frozen berries I have, they are supper sweet.

Tim has bought a new washing machine, it’s an LG 8.5kg machine. Not sure when it will be delivered.

Been in a lot of pain since 10.30am.

27-1-22

Had a really good night sleep wise, up at 5am as per usual.

Started the food shop at 7am but the website is being a bitch and a half, as in it keeps freezing and not loading. At 1pm I finally managed to get it done, Tim will have to pick it up tomorrow as by the time I was able to checkout and pay I wasn’t able to get it delivered.

Today has been a hard, frustrating day. Pain in knees is bad.

28-1-22

Woke at 5.30 after a good nights sleep. Kathy and girls here by 6.15am. I was crying while showering, I feel so sad, tomorrow is Mum’s 82nd birthday. I miss her so much. Kathy wasn’t sympathetic.

There is a BBQ at the old house today before Dawson moves.

Had a good day hanging out with my siblings got home at 3pm and straight to bed to sober up.

POEM DAY

Please Don’t Cry

© Joe Green More By Joe Green

Published: February 2010

Please, don’t cry.
I’m not really gone.
When you look out the window,
I’ll be standing on the lawn.

Please, don’t cry.
I’ll see you again.
Don’t be sad;
Keep up your chin.

Please, don’t cry.
I’m not really dead.
When you cry yourself to sleep,
I’ll be by your bed.

Please, don’t cry.
Just because we had to part,
As long as you remember me,
I’ll live in your heart.

Please, don’t cry.
I’m not gone forever.
I’ll be a cool and gentle breeze
In hot summer weather.

Please, don’t cry.
Don’t run and hide.
When you need a shoulder to lean on,
I’ll be by your side.

Please, don’t cry.
When you’re sad and weak,
I’ll be there
To kiss you on the cheek.

Please, don’t cry.
This is just a goodbye.
So please, oh please,
Baby, do not cry.

PEREGRINE FALCON

Hello world today marks two years sine the first case of Covid here in Aussie land.

Well it’s Tuesday and that means extreme creature day and this week have the Peregrine Falcon, the fastest animal in the world.

It coasts high above the ground until it spots something it wants it then folds its wings flat against its body and drops into a dive reaching speeds of more than 300 km/h. Wham within seconds this powerful bird has plucked up its prey with its large strong talons.

They have a special pair of eyelids that helps protect its eyes and vision as it dives through the air. They have a wingspan of 70-120cm’s.

The Peregrine Falcon is found in most habitats, from rainforests to the arid zone, and at most altitudes, from the coast to alpine areas. It requires abundant prey and secure nest sites, and prefers coastal and inland cliffs or open woodlands near water, and may even be found nesting on high city buildings.

Peregrine falcons are solitary, territorial, top predators. … Non-migratory peregrines, such as those in Pittsburgh, stay on territory alone or as a mated pair. No other peregrines are allowed in the territory, not even their own offspring. Peregrines have no long-lasting “love” for their young.
