Week 4 of 2026

I slept well, managed 7hrs of sleep, woke at 4.50am at 5.30 after Tim left for work I had a shower and shave before getting breakfast. My BGL was 6.4 the temp was 19c or 66f and it is raining.

It is now midday and it’s still raining the temp is 20c of 68f. Tim got home around 11.30am.

It stopped raining around 2pm so around 4pm Tim was able to go out the back and do whatever.

Steps:6,521 = 3.3k’s or 1.9miles

Had a good 7hrs sleep with some really strange dreams that mum and dad were part of mum was with me shopping and dad was at the doctors with a bleeding hand.

It is another wet day, and we are off to my appointment with Dr Babu my neurologist in Sydney a 2hr drive from here.

My appointment went well; she has increased the Sifrol to double it is now and has degreased the Madopar I take for tablets a day two of them have been degreased in strength to see if that helps with the dyskinesia.

We arrived home around 3pm

Steps: 6,663 = 3.3k’s or 2 miles

I am up way earlier then I would like to be but from 2.30am I was restless and unable to find a comfortable position to lay in so at 4.20am I got up and started my day. I may need a nap during the day we will see.

The temp this morning was 17c or 62.6f so somewhat nippy. My BGL was 6.6 so a bit high.

By 5am I had cleaned the kitchen, emptied the dishwasher, swept the kitchen floor and vacuumed the lounge and hallway, emptied the bins and had a wash and moisturised my body and of course got dressed for the day.

I tossed then towels into wash but after a while the machine made a noise and when I went to check the error code it was unable to drain. When Tim got up, he spent a couple of hours checking the drainage hose which was ok not blocked now when he gets home from work, he is going to take the pump filter out and check it.

I have asked Tasha to take the towels to hers and wash them for me she still hasn’t done it at 2pm. So, I asked Jess and Sam came down and took them back to her house to wash them for me.

Tim arrived home around 5pm and hour later than expected.

Steps: 5,446 = 2.7k’s or 1.6 miles

Another early start I got up at 4.20am due to a bad headache and feeling unwell. I had a good 8hrs of sleep.

At 5am my BGL was 6.5 and the temp a cool 17c or 62f, I have taken my morning meds and hopefully the headache will ease soon, I am having my morning egg flip which is helping with the unwell feeling.

I am going with Sue while she gets and Xray on her knee and then we will go to the post office as I need stamps and want to see about the concession stamps now that I am on a pension again.

Got the stamps no problem, went to Coles and then Sue went to pick up the scripts while I waited on a seat outside Coles, only to have Sue ring and say there was a problem she was being told that I owed $121 instead of $15. I went down brought up the app where it showed I’d paid, they then said it was ok all sorted.

Tasha was supposed to help go to bed only to be helping damn Benny again.

Steps: 6,153 = 3.11k’s or 1.9 miles

Had a good night sleep getting over 10hrs of sleep, I was up at 4.30am and had a shower and cleaned the kitchen before my 5am alarm went off.

I am going shopping with Sue and looking forward to it as per usual.

It is going to be another hot day. I am feeling so tired by midday.

Tim cooked lunch crumb chicken with baked spuds and carrots and peas, with cheesecake for dessert.

This afternoon Jess came over to get something, and Tim asked her if she was talking to him and she said no and left. This was the start of an argument between me and Tim as he acted like he didn’t understand why she would be like that. I told him she is supporting her child and doesn’t like the way he is treating Sam. This went on for 2hrs, at one point I said he was acting like he didn’t trust me and he said he didn’t, that hurt when I asked why he avoided the question and starter going on about Sam is Leo and Leo is a boy.

So, all in all a distressing afternoon.

Steps:8,026 = 4k’s or 2.2 miles

I had a rough night; I slept well till 1.30am after that I had trouble settling tossing and turning finding it difficult to lay on my left side due to the pain in my shoulder. I managed to get some sleep laying on my back but after a while that also started to hurt. I ended up coming out to the lounge room and sleeping for a bit in my armchair. All in all, I got around 6hrs of sleep.

This morning my BGL was 7.1 and it was 19c or 66f.

I was surprised to see Sue turn up she just came to check on me.

Steps: 7,750 = 3.9k’s or 2.2 miles

I slept well last night getting 7hrs of sleep my BGL was 5.9 the temp this morning is 17c or 62f.

This morning Tim and I went to Aldi as they had advertised office chairs for $60 but of course, they had none in stock. So, I spent some time looking online for one but then my internet started playing up so I got the shits and packed it in.

After going to Aldi Tim wanted to go to his favourite butcher which we did, and he got the meat he wanted.

It has been another hot day with a temp of 30c or 86f in my house without the air con going.

Around 6pm Jessica came down and showed me some clips she found funny and reminded her of me, it was funny.

It was then I was informed that her and Tim had a long talk and things are much better between them.

Tasha arrived at 7.15pm to help me get ready for bed.

Steps: 6,981 = 3.4k’s or 2 miles

Week 3 of 2026

I slept well till 3am, after that I had a blocked nose and pain my left shoulder and right hip and just couldn’t settle, so I got up at 4.45am.

It is much cooler today only 20c at 5am with a top temp of only 24c, I am having a rough day.

I tried to have a nap but couldn’t settle so after half an hour of trying I gave up, even though I didn’t fall asleep after spending that time laying with my eyes closed, I did feel a bit more with it when I got up.

Tim has spent a good part of the day working on the stand for the portable air con. The first one he did wasn’t right the front needs to be a tad higher than the back in order for it to drain correctly.

I think I will be having an early night.

Steps:9,207 = 4.6k’s or 2.9miles

Had a decent enough sleep, woke a couple of times but all in all managed around 8hrs of sleep. This morning it is cool and 18c or 64f we are looking at a top temp of only 23c or 73.4f

My BGL was 6.5 this morning. I have a doctor’s appointment at 11.20 this morning.

Sue took me to my doctor’s appointment; it was a waste of time, as I was right and I couldn’t get my care plan done yet not till next month.

It has rained on and off all day.

Tim home at 3pm.

Steps: 7,062 = 4.6k’s or 2.1miles

Had a good night got 9hrs and 37 mins of sleep, it is 20c or 68f and we are expecting a top temp of 25c or 77f, my BGL was 6.3

Tim has work but will be home for a couple of hours instead of sitting around in a hot bus waiting.

Had my physio appointment, it went well and it turned out to be my last appointment as the physio was very pleased with my progress. She also said it was a pleasure to see one who has some common sense.

It has been a hot day got up to 27c of 80.6f.

Steps: 7,336 = 3.7k’s or 2.2 miles

Had a good night’s sleep got around 9hrs again, my BGL was a bit high this morning at 7.5. The temp this morning is 21c or 69.8f we are looking at a top temp of 26 but we will see.

The day is warm with some rain but not much, thankfully the clothes Tim hung outside to dry did dry.

I had a moment of confusion just not with it, thankfully it didn’t last long.

Tim has at last got the stand for the portable A/C the way he wants it and he is happy, now he is going to work on the one for Sue.

Around 6pm I suggested we turn the A/C off, but no Tim said he was hurt, although when he went to have a shower, I turned the fans off.

Steps:5,523 = 2.7k’s or 1.6miles

Slept well although I had to get up 4 times to pee, so frustrating but at least my feet are not swollen. I managed 6hrs and 38mins of sleep. My BGL was 6.6 the temp at 5.30an was 21c or 69.8f.

Tim left for work at 9am he should be home around 3pm

The temp at midday is 27c or 80.6f, so I turned the air con on in the kitchen.

The order with the exhaust hose extension arrived, earlier than expected. When Tim went to attach it, he found it to be a tad small but with some thick black tape he attached it and made it work.

By 4pm I was having difficulty with my concentration and by 5pm I was having issues with trying to stay awake and functioning.

Steps: 9,099=4.6k’s or 2.8miles

I had a good night sleep with 9hrs and 11mins, I was up at 4.50am. my BGL was 6.4 and the temp was a nice 21c or 69.8f.

I spent an hour trying to get this damn computer to work, it wasn’t the computer it was the internet for some reason it took my that long to think turn the damn modem off and on again. After doing that the problem was fixed.

Tim had a dentist appointment cost him $350 I can’t remember what work he had done but he says he needs another filling and 2 extractions all up for that work will be around $900.

He is working this afternoon

When Tim got home, he wasn’t in a good mood, and it got worse by the time I went to bed he was saying that Tasha should be coming and helping me not him.  Just as I got into bed, he said something about being done with the girls they don’t love or respect him and next time he sees someone here he will just get in the car and leave, I didn’t catch what name he said though.   I asked if he wanted to talk about it he snapped no and walk out of the room.

Steps: 4,774

Not the best night, woke up feeling sad and with zero motivation, but I have so far unpacked the dishwasher cleaned up the birdseed from near the front door and cleaned the kitchen.

My BGL was 6.4 at 5.30am the temp was 20c or 68f.

I have now vacuumed and feed the birds, cleaned up more birdseed mess, put a load of washing on read some blogs, listen to 2 chapters of my book.

Tim has arranged the drink and Wi-Fi on the cruise cost us $1,100 extra.

Blain came and tossed the rat bat up into the ceiling.

Tasha came down to let us know that her and Jess have decided to get a skip bin Tim said he would chip in.

Steps:5,611 = 2.8k’s or 1.7mile

Week Two of 2026

When I woke up it was 5.15 and my first thought was how did I sleep through the alarm, it took a few seconds to remember it was Sunday.

This morning my BGL was 7.1, it was 19c or 66f and I had 10hrs & 22mins of sleep.

By 9am it is 24c or 75f and we have thunder & lightning with rain, so it is muggy. Due to how muggy it is I have the air con on.

Tim left for work at 12.30pm

It has rained on and off all day

Steps:7,198 = 3.6k’s or 2.1m’s

       TEMIKA’S 16TH BIRTHDAY

Had a good night sleep got 8hrs & 20mins, my BGL was 7.5 and at 6.30am it was 18C or 64.9f

Sue picked me up and we dropped a birthday card and gift card off for Temika, then we went to Daves and dropped of Dawson’s Christmas present after that we went to Kathy’s work and dropped of Kelli’s Christmas gifts after that we went to Warners Bay Plaza and did some shopping.

When we got back here, we found that Tim had locked the door and I couldn’t get in we rang the doorbell and bashed on the door, then our neighbour called for him to let us in as he was out the back.

It is damn hot today had to turn the air con of for a while.

Steps: 8,860 = 4.5k’s or 2.7 miles

I got up at 4.25am as after going to the loo at 3.20am I wasn’t able to go back to sleep only dozing on and off till I got fed up and decided to get up. I had 8hrs of sleep so that’s good.

The temp at 5am was 19c or 66f, my BGL was 6.5.

I have the portable air conditioner going and the room is comfortable.

I am feeling emotionally today.

Dawson turned up around 3pn he came to say thanks for the Christmas gift.

When Tim arrived homed, he complained about me not having the air con on, but I had not long turned it off as there was a cool breeze, so I opened the doors and turned the air con off.

Steps: 5,066 = 2.5k’s

What a morning, I was up at 5am as usual and by 6.45am I was so tired that I went back to bed till 7.30am when Tim left for work. After that I was ok for a bit but became very tired again and found myself zoning out. I had 7hrs 22mins of sleep and my BGL was 6.4 and it was 20c or 68f.

By 11am it was 28c or 82.4f and I had to turn the kitchen A/C on as well. The portable A/C was already on.

It reached a top of 32c or 89.6f

Tim got home from work at 2.15pm so not a long day.

I managed to write one letter which made me happy.

Steps:7,516 = 3.8k’s or 2.2miles

It feels like a busy start to the day, I was up at 4.50am, I opened the house up and vacuumed and tidy the kitchen before having a shower.

My BGL is 6.1 at 5.30 and the temp is 20c or 68f, we are in for a hot day.

Sam came over just to look through the kitchen for food and while she was here Tim got up so I gave her, her birthday gift a $50n gift card for EB Games.

Sam liked what I gave her for her birthday the gift card and what I wrote in the card.

This afternoon I received a parcel which contained 2 dresses and a top I hadn’t ordered checked and they were free gifts from Temu. One of the dresses was what I was thinking about for Sam. Sam tried it on and came and showed me and I thought she looked nice.

I haven’t mentioned it to Tim as he would only go on about me encouraging feel I am being supportive.

The temp reached 35c or 95f, the heat made me sick, Jessica asked me if I wanted to go to lunch with them for Sam’s birthday, but I felt too sick to do so.

Tim went on and on about me giving Sandy a small bottle of “his” Fanta so much that I snapped at him that I got it and to let it go, he just got more pissed.

Steps: 8,786 = 4.5k’s or 2.7miles

A rough night I was up and down to pee about 5 times during the night and woke feeling tired but decided to get up anyway so I could get some stuff done before the heat arrives. I had around 7hrs of sleep.

It is a pleasant 20c or 68f, but we are in for a stinking hot day with a top temp of 34c.

Tim has caught the bus out to Toronto I think to meet up with some work mates he isn’t driving so he can have a couple of beers.

Tim arrived home at 2pm also at 2pm it was 33c or 91.4f.

Tim realised that the portable A/C is leaking from the front and there is water all over the floor. He has spent ages trying to figure out why. He now has it sitting with the front raised up a tad and I am worried it will fall but it stopped the leaking.

He is now working tomorrow.

Steps:10,112

I had a good night getting around 7hrs of sleep. However, I am feeling depressed and want to cry, why? Well, there is more tension between Tim & Jess over Sam. Jess is fed up with how Tim treats Sam refusing to refer to Sam as she and going on about just being truthful and that Sam is male not female.

When Tim mentioned it and I read what he wrote to Jess I could understand her feelings and because I didn’t 100% side with him Tim became angry with me and ended up saying he didn’t want to discuss it.

So, I am not feeling that good this morning.

It has been another bloody hot day got up to 40c here or 104f.

Steps:8,650 = 4.3k’s or 2.3mikes

Week 52 of 2025

Here we are at another Sunday, I hope everyone who reads this is well.

Had a good night, Tasha came and helped me get ready for me as Tim is working.

Being Sunday, it is no alarm day so up at 6am not 5am at 6.30 it is 22C or 71F and I am already starting to sweat.

I had a good 10hrs & 15 mins of sleep. My BGL is 7.0

I cleaned the kitchen, threw a load of clothes on to wash, hung it out and took clothes hoists outside, swept the flood as didn’t want to disturb Tim and fed the birds all by 6.30am.

Speaking of Tim he didn’t get home till 2am.

By 10am it was 34C or 93F, at midday I started to feel unwell, I have a headache and my concentration is terrible, it is now 37C or 98.6F.

This afternoon Tim decided he wanted to buy a portable air conditioner for the lounge room, so did some checking found on at Big W in Mount Hutton and bought it, he should be able to pick it up tomorrow. They had some in stock, but I didn’t want them to be sold out by the time Tim would get there to buy one had that type of thing happen in the past.

Tim checked the thermometer outside at 2pm and it read 45C or 113F.

Steps: 13,821 = 8k’s or 5 miles.

Up at 5am, showered and dressed it is very warm with a temp of 28C or 82.4F, I had a good night’s sleep getting BGL was 6.5 at 6am.

When Tim went pick up the new portable air conditioner, I had him dropped off me off at the plaza so I could do some shopping.

This afternoon it rained for a while, then stopped only to start again.

I have not felt well on and off all day and think I will be in bed early.

Some people have senior moments I have Parkinson’s moments, lately what is in my head comes out wrong from my mouth and it is so depressing, I am getting names wrong calling him her or her him I feel distressed when I do this and wonder what others are thinking about my stuff ups.

I went to share the above paragraph to Facebook only to get a message that my account had been, they wanted me to verify who I was I did what was asked and I will see tomorrow if it has been reinstated.

Steps: 7,411 = 3.7k’s or 2.2 miles

I had a good night’s sleep getting 9hrs, it is 20C or 68F at 5.30am we are headed for a top temp of 30C. My BGL was 7.0

When I checked Facebook, my account had been permanently deleted, so I tried to create another account, but it was rejected. I then came across the account in the name Anne Meadows, and it works do that is what I am using.

Sue and I took Jeannie’s Christmas present from me then we went to visit mum & dad.

I opened Sue’s gift to me, 2 diaries, a small calendar and a small plaque with a message to a sister.

Tim went and set Sue’s new air con up in her bedroom and he also set ours up in the dining room area and it made a big difference. I could tell Tim was surprised how well it worked.

It reached a top of 33C or 91.4F

Steps:9,768= 4.9k’s or 3 miles

Had another good night which 9hrs & 30mins of sleep, my BGL was 6.7 and the temp at 6am was 20C or 68F. we are looking at a top temp of 30C or 86F.

I mopped the bathroom and kitchen floors as well as vacuum out. At 9am it was 24C or 75F.

My brother and Sister in-law came over to drop of some were here e turkey while they were here, I gave them their presents, Leigh seemed to really like her gifts.

By 3pm it was 28C or 82.4F, we don’t have the air con on.

I feel so sad this afternoon, I can’t say why because I don’t know. Sue sent me a photo of Archie and that made me smile and feel a little less sad.

Tim has been helping Natasha with a few things without complaint, she has stripped and repainted one of her bedrooms, wall and ceiling and door, she removed the door and replaced it herself after she sanded it and repainted it. The room looks good, when she is done with this room she is going to start on another one.

Steps:13,385 = 6.8k’s or 4.1 miles

CHRISTMAS DAY

I have been up since 4.35, as I was having trouble sleeping, couldn’t lay on my left side it hurt my shoulder, couldn’t lay on my right side it hurt my hip and laying on my back made that ache.

Jessica and Sam came over at 7am and opened their presents, Tim got up to watch. After they left Tim asked why I gave Sam a skirt and how I was enabling him in his silliness. I said I am supporting her in her decision.

Tasha came down to let us know she will prepare dinner for us not lunch as Jess is sleeping most of the day as she is working tonight.

Later, around 11.15am Blain and Ta’lia arrived and I gave them their presents T was surprise that I gave her so much but seemed pleased with everything.

Kathy rang around 2pm to wish me Merry Christmas.

Dinner was at 4.15pm, Tim cooked the meat and Tash made potato bake, it was ok.

Sandy rang to wish me Merry Christmas

Steps: 6,220=3l’s or 1.8miles

BOXING DAY

Here we are at the 26 Dec. 25 and down here we refer to this as Boxing Day don’t ask why, I don’t know we just do.

I am up showered and dress it is a nice 17c or 62f at 5am, my BGL was 6.5 and I had 9hrs and 55mins of sleep last night.

It is a cold day I am in long leggings and socks to keep my feet warm.

I was so very tired that at 10.30 I went and had an hour nap, after that I was more awake and with it.

We went to Kathy’s for lunch which was wonderful, I had a good time, and I think the gifts we gave were liked.

The top temp was only 19c or 66f.

Steps:6,820=3.4k’s or 2.1miles

Had a good night’s sleep got 8hrs & 35mins, I am now up washed and dressed the temp this morning at 5.30am was 14c or 57f. My BGL was 6.6.

Tim and I are going out to lunch at the Eastern Tiger.

I got motivated to clean the bathroom and do some dusting this morning. By 9.30 it was 20c or 68f.

Lunch was ok I didn’t eat much just no appetite. Got a text from Leigh and it has been decided to cancel the siblings gathering this year as none of us are feeling it.

Kathy rang this afternoon and she was in a right mood; she is pissed that no one other than her and Sue gave me a Christmas present as she feels I do so much for everyone else. She said I shouldn’t be getting them any gifts for them. I said that’s not how I am.

Steps: 8,451 = 4.2k’s or 2.6 miles.

My Christmas

How was everyone’s Christmas, mine was ok nothing great, I just haven’t been feeling this year, in fact we have cancelled the siblings gathering as none of us are feeling it this year. Both me and Sue have decided that next year instead of going to Dave’s we all should go out for lunch at the Eastern Tiger and I suggested that next year instead of Tasha cooking lunch for us we should go to the Eastern Tiger and she liked that idea.

                                                                GIFTS FROM SUE

As for gifts well Tim gave me nothing, Tasha gave me nothing, Jessica gave me nothing. Kathy-Lee gave me some nice oils, Sue gave me2 dairies, a small calendar and a sister plaque.

                                                            KATHY’S GIFT TO ME

On Boxing Day Tim and I went to Kathy’s for lunch and Michael made his smash burgers which are so yummy, he also made homemade garlic bread that was also so nice.

                                                                KATHY’S GIFT TO TIM

Today the 27 Dec Tim and I went to the Eastern Tiger for lunch, Tim commented that I didn’t eat much but my appetite has been very low.

Week 51 of 2025

Hi everyone, it is Sunday 14 December and after a rough night I managed 6hrs & 16 mins of sleep, I woke up at 5.35am. I don’t have an alarm set on Sundays.

It has been another stinking hot day, I turned the air con on at 1pm, the temp was 32C or 89F.

I have finished off the Christmas cards and Sue drive me to the post office tomorrow.

I had to leave the air con on when I went o bed as it was still 28C or 82F

Steps:17,142 = 8.7k’s or 5.3 miles

Monday has arrived and the start of another working for some and just another day for others.

Last night there was shorting at Bondi with 42 shot with 16 dead, including one of the two shooters which was a father and son.

Sue came over and drove to the post office so I could post things off. We then went over to Sam’s to drop off gifts for her kids, but she wasn’t home. So, we then went to Lake Fair as Sue wanted to go to Woolies.

Not as hot today.

Steps:12,974 = 6.6K’s or 4 miles

Tuesday, morning and I was up showered and dressed, the ground is wet and it is 16C orb 64F. I had a good 9hrs & 20mins of sleep.

I am not feeling good today, I have a headache and a sore throat and feel so tired.

A wet morning and dry in the afternoon, Tim arrived home around 2pm. As soon as he got home, he went to Tasha’s as she had to go out, and she has someone coming to fix her back door.

Well, the guy turned up and while he was there Tasha arrived home, she started going off at Tim for what reason we do not know anyway he rightly got annoyed and left.

Then Tim came home and tried to ring Booking.com after a while he managed to get to talk to someone who at first wasn’t very helpful but after a while she finally said they would contact the hotel and confirm we didn’t stay there and arrange a refund, we will see.

Steps: 9,015 = 4.6K’s or 2.8 miles

Another warm day, I did a load of washing and hung it out to dry.

I had a good night’s sleep getting 9hrs.

Jess came over at 11am and asked if I wanted to go with her to buy some cupcakes, I said I would. Sadly, when we arrived, they had sold out of cupcakes, so Jess went to the bakery in Cardiff on the way home.

Jess rang me at 3pm and asked me if I could ring the cupcake place and see if they had any available, I did they said they would be available by 4pm so I rang back then and was able to order what she wanted and when she returned home, she brought over one for me.

At 4.45pm I went and got the washing off the clothes hoists and that felt like a task and a half, but I managed.

Steps: 9,533 = 4.8k’s or 2.9 miles

I am up washed and dressed and ready for another day, the temp at 6am is 15C or 50F and we are in for another hot day with a top of 32C 89.6F.

My BGL is 6.2 at 5.30am.

Tim is still in bed as he doesn’t need to get up till 7am, his job today will take him to Sydney

Tim left at 8.30 and I think he said he would be home around 6pm, he has a doctor’s appointment tomorrow at m same time as mine. So, he will drive me there and Sue will meet me there so we can go shopping after my appointment.

It has turned out to be bloody hot but tomorrow it’s supposed to be even hotter. It reached 33C or 91.4F

I have had bugga all motivation today.

Steps:13,903 = 7k’s or 4.3miles

I slept well managed 8hrs & 35 minutes of sleep woke three times to pee and got up at 4.45am, I am showered and moisurised and dressed in house clothes but will change my top for a dress before going out.

Had a doctor’s appointment for scripts then Sue and I went to Sam’s (my niece) to drop of gifts from Mrs Claus as well ad gifts for Tom’s girls.

Sue said she spoke to Jeannie who said she would not be at the sibling Christmas lunch because it’s her partner Peter’s birthday of course he  is able to attend but they never come and Sue said when she asked Jeannie if she would be there she got very angry going off and saying it’s Peter’s birthday last year we had it on a different date and she still didn’t come due  to Pete’s birthday. So, I said I would take Jeannie’s gift to her daughter Sam’s place who will take them to Jeannie’s on Christmas Day.

It is really hot with a temp of 38C or 100.4F. Steps:11,337 = 7.4k’s or 4.5 miles.

I was up before my alarm this morning got up at 4.40am had my washed and dressed for the day, had to vacuum before doing anything else I do not like the look of a dirty floor. Opened the house up and tidy the kitchen before making my eggflip and start reading blogs.

At 5.30am it was 22C or 71.6F, my BGL was 7.4 and I had 6hrs and 21mins of sleep.

At 6.15 I fed the birds.

Tim left for work at 11.30am he will be home around 1am, he is doing a charter.

I wrote 4 letters so I will post them on Monday, hopefully.

I have had a good day been hot but ok inside. Reached a tope of 29C or 84F

Week 50 of 2025

Hi all, I hope everyone is well.

I woke to find Tim asleep on the lounge he didn’t get home till 2am so as I was getting up, I told him to go to bed for a while. I had a good night slept for 8hrs.

It is 25C at 5.30am

We left around 9.30am and arrived at the motor inn at 2.20pm, we stopped at Denman bakery, and I bought a cheese & bacon sausage roll and Tim bought a cheese and bacon pie, and he didn’t like it. The sausage roll was pretty good not the best one I have had but far from the worse.

The motor inn is nice the room looks

It is 28C at 2.30pm

We went to the RSL for dinner, we got roast beef and veggies, I liked it, we were back at motel by 7pm.

I realised that I forgot a comb, my blood test kit, a USB wall plug, brought the charger cables.

I am so tired, but I can’t settle down.

Steps:7,771 = 3.9 k’s or 2.4 miles.

I am up at 5am as per usual, had a rough night, took ages for me to settle. Then when Tim came to bed, he kicked me three times in the left leg.

It is 17C at 5.30am in Dubbo.

Tim said something about putting the walker in the boot first, I asked if it could go in last as he will need to get it out each time I want to walk any distance. He sounded snappy with me when he said NO.

When we arrived at the observatory, he decided to put the walker in the back seat as it was easier to get in and out of the car.

We arrived at Orange around 1.30 pm, when Tim found the place, we were booked into, it wasn’t suitable as there were too many stairs and no lift. So, he cancelled the booking but when he tried to contact Booking.com he couldn’t work it out and the only phone number we could find was in the USA. When we tried to find somewhere else it wasn’t easy most affordable places had no vacancies or were too expensive.

So, we now at Cowra for 4 nights, the room here is ok, although I cannot get into the shower.

The whole Orange accommodation saga made me feel tense and upset as for some reason I felt like it was somehow my fault even though Tim hasn’t done or said anything to make me feel that way.

Steps: 7,490 = 3.8k’s

I slept well once I got to sleep, managed a good 8hrs when the alarm went at 5am I got up took my medication and went back to bed till 6.20am. I then got up had a wash applied make-up and moisturised my arms as per usual, before I got dressed. Tim is still asleep, the temp at 6.30am 12C.

After Tim got up, we went to Maccas for breakie, after that went to tourist info centre before going to check out war cemeteries and the POW camp. After that we drove out to check out a dam.

We stopped and bought pizza for tea; however, I forgot to say I wanted BBQ sauce not pizza sauce.

Our new motel room has a disability bathroom, and it is the only room that has one, we have not been charged extra.

The temp got up to 36C

I had a nice hottish shower, my left arm is very sore.

Steps: 8,455

I slept really well, got a good 7hrs and 50 mins of sleep I am up at 5am as per usual, and have washed and dressed. It is currently 15C or 50F Tim wants to visit the Japanese Gardens this morning after that I am not sure what we will do.

At 7.30am it was 20C in Cowra and 20C in Warners Bay.

The Japanese gardens were so peaceful and lovely, I managed to walk around it. As we left the gardens it was 31C.

After that we went to the shops before returning to the motel, the other things we want to check out are only opened on Thursdays. By 2pm it was 36C

At 5.40pm I was so tired I started to cry in frustration, Tim suggested I lay down for a bit, so I got changed for bed and I am doing that.

Steps: 7,011

I ended up sleeping all night although I did wake on and off, I had 9hrs of sleep and got up at 5am when the alarm went off. After my wash I dressed, although I couldn’t find a washcloth, they were there yesterday arvo I don’t know what Tim did with them. Tim has had the radio going through his phone all night.

I did have 2 bottles of Midori yesterday but that shouldn’t have contributed to how I was feeling.

We went and checked out the peace bell, then we went to the rail heritage centre, both were interesting, but the rail place was not disabled friendly.

We returned to the motel for lunch and while here it started to rain, so we are not going out again.

No need for the air con on this arvo, I think I will be having another early night as I’m feeling tired at 6pm, I also have an earache.

At 6pm it is 22C

BLAIN’S BIRTHDAY HE IS 20 TODAY

I slept well, had 9hrs of sleep, at 5.30am it was 15C, my body is moving a lot, and it is exhausting.

Tim got up at 6.30am and we left the motel by 7.15am.

Since we were driving through Bathurst Tim decided to drive around the Mount Panorama Circuit, which was cool, for those who don’t know this is where the Bathurst car race is held, this race is a big deal in Australia.

I had a phone call from Centrelink about my DSP claim; they wanted to know if Tim’s compo claim only involved him and not me as well.

We arrived home at 3.30pm, Blain was at his mums and came to see us and I was able to give him his birthday gift, a $25 Visa Gift Card.

Steps: 11,715 = 5.9k’s or 3.7 miles

Saturday and it’s been a busy morning Tim is back at work I had a good night slept for 7hrs &20mins.

I have been busy since getting up, cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed out put the clothes on to wash all before 6.30am.

Sue came over to show me her new haircut, and she drove me to then shops to get a few things. Her hair looks so good, it’s much shorter so will not be so hot on her neck.

I am going to see if Tim will cut my hair tomorrow.

The Importance of Christmas

Today I am looking at the importance of Christmas as we all know Christmas is one of the most widely celebrated holidays across the world, particularly in Australia and other Western nations. Christmas holds deep cultural, social, and spiritual significance for people of many different backgrounds. Its importance extends beyond religious beliefs, influencing community life, family traditions, and the economy.

For Christians, Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, a central figure in Christianity. This event symbolises hope, redemption, and the promise of peace. Many people attend church services, listen to Christmas carols, and reflect on messages of kindness and goodwill during this period. The spiritual aspect also encourages selflessness and generosity, inspiring charitable acts and community support.

This is a time when families and friends come together, often travelling long distances for reunions. In Australia, it’s common to celebrate with backyard barbies, beach picnics, and such but not in my family.

Many people like to decorate their home inside and out; me I do some decorations inside as well as some window stickers outside but not a lot.

The Christmas season stimulates economic activity, with retailers experiencing a surge in sales as people buy gifts, decorations, and food. Many Australian businesses rely on the holiday period for a significant portion of their annual revenue. Additionally, Christmas markets and local events provide opportunities for small businesses and artisans to thrive, contributing to the broader economy.

Christmas is also associated with giving and helping those in need. Many Australians participate in charity drives, donate to food banks, or volunteer their time. This spirit of generosity reinforces community values and reminds us of the importance of compassion, empathy, and looking out for one another. Locally as in where I live, we have the bikers for Christmas toy run. I am including a couple of links for those who want to know more about the toy run.

Christmas and Boxing Day are public holidays here and for those who have to work on these days they get paid either double time or double time and a half.

Generally speaking, Christmas is much more than a public holiday; it is a complexed celebration that enriches spiritual life, strengthens relationships, boosts the economy, and encourages kindness. Whether celebrated for its religious roots or as a time for family and community, Christmas holds a special place in Australian society, making it one of the most important times of the year.

Week 49 of 2025

Good morning, all I have been up since 4.40am, why? Well, I had a headache, and it woke me up and I was unable to settle so I got up to take something for it and decided to stay up.

Tim and I went to the plaza to do some shopping, and I had to remove my shoes as I felt unstable walking was so much easier barefoot.

It has been a very warm day, but I haven’t had the air con on. I have had a much better day then yesterday.

Steps: 8,623 = 4.4klms or 2.7 miles

Good morning, it is the first of December and officially the start of summer. I slept well getting just over 8hrs of sleep. At 5.30am it is 14C or 57F, by midday it was 23C or 73.4F.

I sorted out some photos and put them into a photo album, also wrote a couple of letters and fed the birds.

I have noticed a small cut to my right index finger, and I have no idea how it happened, but it is sore.

I have asked Sue if she will take me to the post office on Thursday, she said she was about to ask me if I would like to go shopping with her on Thursday.

By 5pm I am struggling to stay awake.

By 6.30 I was feeling less tired and will stay up later then I thought I would.

Steps: 11,195 = 5.7klm’s or 3.6 miles

I was up at 4.50am again as from 4am when I got up to pee, I had trouble going back to sleep only dozing on and off, so I just got up. I had a good night’s sleep getting 9hrs & 45 mins of sleep.

It is only 12C or 53.6F at 5.30 and my BGL is 6.0.

I decided to sort out the Christmas gifts in have but only got half done as it took too much out of me. I ended up getting Sam to clean off my bed putting the stuff in bags for me to sort out tomorrow. Sue said she would come over tomorrow and help me with the task.

It has been a warm day.

Steps: 11,142 = 5.7K’s or 3.5 miles

The temp at 9am is 20C or 68F

Sue came over she helped me with the Christmas presents and I sent an email to the iris photo place about the photo for Kirsty. I was hoping it would be easier to get the voucher online for it but couldn’t work it out.

I was having a nap in my recliner when Sandy walked in, she at last came to get stuff I printer for her.

It is another stinking hot day; I have sorted out most of the Christmas presents still have to do a few more.

It reached 31C here or 87.8F had the air con on all day well from 11am.

I got the clothes inside and folded them but left the basket on Tim’s chair and of course he made some silly comment that annoyed me as he is just as able as me to move it.

I uploaded the payslips for my DSP claim.

Had a long video call with Kathy this afternoon she told me about her trip to Bali, which made me laugh.

This afternoon there was a text fight between Sue and Tasha about my care Tasha got very angry and because she was drunk Sue was also very angry. Tasha put be in the middle of it which also really pissed off Sue. As Sue said it was about me and not with me.

Kathy heard about some of the events and sided with her mum and aunty.

By midday it is 35C or 95.9F.

Germany and Christmas

Today is thefirst of December and in December I like to do some Christmas related posts. I will kick this off with the country most often associated with Christmas.

This country is Germany, thanks to its iconic traditions like Christmas markets, the Advent calendar, and the decorated Christmas tree.

Christmas is celebrated by 81% of Germans, including many who aren’t religious.

Are you asking why Germany?

Germany celebrates Christmas with deep-rooted traditions that blend festive cheer, family gatherings, and unique customs like Advent calendars, Christmas markets, and St. Nicholas Day. It’s one of the most beloved holidays in the country, marked by rituals that have influenced celebrations worldwide.

The modern decorated Christmas tree originated in Germany in the 16th century, before spreading worldwide.

Also, there are the Christmas markets, Germany is famous for its enchanting Weihnachtsmärkte, with stalls selling ornaments, mulled wine (Glühwein), and festive foods. These markets are thought to have started in Germany and are now replicated globally.

We can also thank them for The Advent calendar and Advent wreath as both began in Germany, shaping how many cultures countdown to Christmas. Most will have heard of the calendar but maybe not the Advent wreaths these involvefour candles being lit on successive Sundays leading up to Christmas.

St. Nicholas Day is on December 5th, children polish their boots and leave them outside. By morning, they’re filled with nuts, candy, or small gifts from St. Nicholas.

In Bavaria, there is Krampus Night men dress as Krampus, a devilish figure who punishes naughty children, accompanying St. Nicholas.

On Christmas Eve families decorate the tree, exchange gifts, and share a festive meal. Potato salad with sausages is a surprisingly common traditional dish.

Both of their Christmas Days the 25 & 26 are public holidays. Families gather for larger meals, often featuring roast goose, carp, or duck.

Popular gifts include vouchers or money (44%), sweets (37%), toys (34%), clothing (32%), and books (30%).

Other countries strongly linked to Christmas include the United States (for popular culture and Santa Claus imagery) and the United Kingdom (for customs like Christmas crackers and carols). Which I will cover in another post.
