Week 1 of 2025

I had a so-so good night, woke at 11.30pm to pee, couldn’t settle so got up and used the powerfit at 12.30am then went back to bed and settled straight away.

It is a cool morning with the temp being 20 degrees, my BGL is 5.0.

Tim and I went to Aldi and to the Plaza this morning.

This arvo we attempted to set up the new sound system and after trying and trying I got fed up. We will try again tomorrow.

Tim taking in Jess’s black work pants they are to lose around the waist.

Steps: 9,652

I had another good night, sleeping straight through the night, it is a nice 19 degrees this morning my BGL was 5.1.

By 10am it was 27 degrees, and I turned the air con on.

Tried again to get the sound bar to work, tomorrow I will check out instructions on YouTube.

I went to bed at around 9pm but wasn’t able go to sleep so I got up at 9.30pm and stayed up for an hour. At 10.20pm Blain walked in looking for butter and shredded cheese, I gave him the cheese and a tub of margarine as the only butter I had was in the fridge rock hard.

10,108

After I went back to bed at 10.30pm I went straight off to sleep, getting up once at 3.40am to pee then straight back to sleep till my alarm went off.

As I have breakie it is a lovely 20 degrees, my BGL was 5.2 and I have the front and back sliding doors open.

Tim is at work; he will be home around 9am.

I turned the air con on at midday, around 1pm I got a headache and started to feel tired.

I went to bed at 8.50 but I was unable to settle so I got up at 9.30 and used the powerfit and update the diary entry

Steps: 9,408

After I went back to bed at 10.30pm I went straight off to sleep, getting up when the alarm went off.

When I took my tablets this morning it felt like one got stuck somewhere in my chest causing discomfort, but I can still eat and drink and hopefully the feeling I have will go away.

It is 19 degrees and my BGL was 4.8

I had a hot flush come over me, so I wet and applied the cooling towel it makes a big difference.

I turned the air con on at 9am just as Tim was getting home, the way he said are you hot annoyed me, yeah, I’m hot, why because it is 27 degrees.

New Year’s Day

I had a good night, and this morning I am doing ok, had my shower and I am now dressed and fed and ready for my day.

It is 17 degrees and my BGL was 5.1

It has been a stinking hot day. The temp reached 35 degrees.

Tim hung the framed photos gave us for Christmas, I need to buy a few more photo frames.

At 7pm because A Current Affair wasn’t on Tim put a movie on without asking me if it was ok, when I asked why he did that he got really pissed. I explained we normally watch something we are both interested in between 7 & 8pm. He started going that he is always watching my shows, which is wrong he may tell me to pick but I always pick something I know he is interested in, when I said that he naturally got even more pissed. Tim is a sulker and won’t talk to me when in a mood, so that’s fine I will not talk to him either. By the time I went to bed at 8.15pm he was over it.

Steps:4,908

Another good night I don’t remember waking at all. It is a much cooler morning temp is 22 degrees, but the wind makes it feel colder. It is only expected to get to 23 degrees today. My BGL was 5.3

I am warm then cold and then warm again and now cold again, it is 3.45pm and I am feeling so tired and drained.

Tim said he could take me to my appointment tomorrow, but I told him I would rather Sue take me as she doesn’t make me feel like I am putting her out when I ask to go somewhere else while out. Tim said he doesn’t mean to make me feel like that which I know but still he does.

So, 7.30pm rolls around and I go to tell Tim thinking he was either out the back or in his office but couldn’t find him. So, I started watching some dashcam clips on YouTube and he walks in at 8.20, he was at the neighbour’s place. I knew he was going to check on Kevin, but I was sure I had seen him come back.

Steps:7,311

I had a reasonable night; I woke up two or three times but each time I went straight back to sleep.

It is a lovely morning the temp is 20 degrees, and I have both sliding doors opened. My BGL was 5.0

Sue came and took me to the podiatrist, and we also posted off all the mail I had ready to be sent and we also went Miller’s to get a couple of tarts, caramel for me and a custard for Sue, only to find them closed.

This afternoon Tim replaced the light bulbs in both the front and back outside lights these lights haven’t worked in around 20yrs and now they do.

Didn’t count my steps today

I had another good night, sleeping straight through. It is a pleasant 19 degrees here although we are in for another pretty hot day.

I walked up and checked the mail yesterday arvo and a neighbour was there who told me there was no mail. I thought just because you have no mail doesn’t mean I won’t. Anyway, I open my mailbox and there were 10 letters in it, 8 for me and 2 for Jess.

I am sitting here at the computer, and I am starting to feel cold, I look at the temp and it has dropped to 16 degrees, time to get up and shut the front door.

Around 2pm my nephew Dawson arrived, he left around 5pm, while he was here, he managed to get the sound bar working.

It has been another hot day with the temp reaching 29 degrees.

Tim cooked a nice meal for our lunch.

Steps: 5,138

JONATHON’S BIRTHDAY

I had a good night, although when I got up at 5am I was having trouble keeping my eyes open so went back to bed for only 25 minutes after which I felt fine.

It is a nice morning at 18 degrees we are expecting a top of 29 degrees, my BGL was 5.0 so that’s good.

The temp got up to 30 degrees, Tim had training this morning and said when he got home that he is now off till Friday.

Steps: 4,278

I had a good night, slept straight through the night, woke to a much cooler morning, in fact it is supposed to be a much cooler day.

The temp is 14 degrees and my BGL is 5.1

Received my grocery shopping and a lot was missing so rang straight away and the woman I spoke to rang the store who rang the driver who came back with the extra 3 bags of stuff.

This afternoon while he was using his grinder it slipped and cut his thumb, he said maybe he should go to hospital and have it stitched but he couldn’t be bothered, so he cleaned it and applied band aids.

CHRISTMAS DAY

I had a good night, woke only once, it is currently 15 degrees, my BGL was 5.0. it is supposed to be a stinking hot day

Sue came and picked me up to go see mum & dad, I left a Christmas card for them on their headstone.

Tim is cooking a baked lunch for us as well as Tasha, Blain and his girlfriend. Although they took their sweet time coming down, but it was good when they arrived.

I was starting to feel unwell so had to turn the air con in the bedrooms on to try and reduce the heat in the house which helped how I was feeling.

I have been feeling sad this afternoon but not sure why.

So, at 4.50pm I was walking to the toilet and fell over my left elbow hit the linen press door putting a small hole in the door. I managed to get myself off the floor and it gave me a headache.

My left elbow and knee are very sore but not even bruised.

Steps are low today didn’t do much only 2,105

BOXING DAY

I had a good night, woke only once, it is currently 15 degrees, my BGL was 5.0. it is supposed to be a stinking hot day. At the moment it is 16 degrees and my BGL was 5.0.

While watching telly we heard a strange sound like the dishwasher running, Tim went to find out what the issue was, it was a blocked toilet. He has rang and reported it and someone should be out within 2hrs.

After that we went to Kathy’s for lunch Michael made his awesome burgers which I really like. It was 34 degrees outside Kathy’s house inside it was ok as she had the air con going.

We arrived home at 2.20pm and here it is 28 degrees thankfully Tim turned the air con on before we left to go out.

I had a good night, didn’t wake at all till the alarm went off at 5am. I feel good and happy this morning.

For a while this morning it didn’t look like it was going to warm up much but by 1pm I had turn the air con on.

Sam came over and is in her room this is the second time this week after no coming over for a few months.

The plumber arrived at 5.30pm, checked the drains and toilet and said it looks like the blockage cleared itself, both Tim and I knew that but stilled wanted it checked out.

Week 50 of 2024

I had a good night slept straight through up with the alarm at 5am, it is 23 degrees my BGL was 5.3 and I am feeling great.

I had to have a nap between 11.30 & 1pm as I was falling asleep while sitting in my armchair.

Tim did crumb lamb chops and veggies for our lunch, it was really nice.

No steps today, I forgot to put my counter on.

I changed the sheets on my own despite the knee problems I am having.

I had a good night slept straight through up with the alarm at 5am, it is a pleasant 20 degrees, my BGL is 5.5.

I had to change from shorts to longer pants for around 3hrs then I changed back into shorts.

It is a cool overcast day, I walked down and posted of a stack of letters and Christmas Cards.

I went to bed at 8.30pm settled fast, woke at 10.15pm due to a hot flush, couldn’t settle again was just too restless so I go up and used the powerfit now I am just doing a couple of things on the computer before I go back to bed.

Steps:10,971

After I went back to bed at midnight, I slept well till the alarm went off at 5am, I would have loved to stay in bed longer but that would throw out my day.

It is 21 degrees and my BGL is 5.0

Not as hot today, my upper body is constantly moving, and it is so frustrating.

I walked down and post off a heap more Christmas cards.

I have had very little issue with my left knee today.

Steps: 4,571

A pretty good night, I don’t remember waking at all last night, it is 18 degrees this morning, my BGL is 5.5 and even though I am up, showered, dress and doing stuff I don’t feel that with it.

When I returned from seeing Sam off this morning, I found 2 cockatoos in my lounge room eating birdseed out of the bag, after they flew off, I cleaned up the mess they made. Well, I was sitting at the computer when I heard a noise and turned to find a cockatoo eating birdseed straight out of the bag again.

This afternoon we received a new TV, this is Jessica’s Christmas present to me and Tim.

Steps: 7,780

A pretty good night, I don’t remember waking at all last night, it is 18 degrees this morning, my BGL is 6.5, I wonder why it is so high.

After I did the washing and hung it up to dry, I was drenched in sweat, checked the temp and it was 27 degrees so turned the air con on.

By 3pm I was feeling really drained of energy and very tired, but I am sticking it out to at least 8pm before going to bed.

Steps:5,290

I had a shocking night woke at 11.50pm needing to go to the toilet, then for the next 3.5hrs I was unable to settle. I may need a nap today.

It is 21 degrees at 5.30am and we are looking at a top temp of 30 degrees. My BGL was 4.3, which is better than I expected as I woke with hunger pains.

I asked Sue if she would take me shopping and to drop some Chrissie Pressies off for Tom’s girls and Samantha’s kids and she was happy to do that for me.

Damn it is a stinking hot day at midday it was 32 degrees.

Steps: 4,522

I had a god night slept straight through but when I woke at 5am, I went to the loo and took my tablets and found myself just standing there trying to keep my eyes open, so I went back to bed for another hour.

It is 22 degrees and my BGL is 5.0

This afternoon Kathy and family came over and Michael helped Tim install the air con in the bedroom.

I asked Kathy is she could hand deliver some things to Kelli as she lives closer than us, she said she would.

Diabetes Risk Factors

Ok this week will look at the risk facts of both types of diabetes.

Some of the risk factors for type 1 diabetes include:

Week 49 of 2024

Another good night, when I woke at 5am and had a shower, I am zoning out a bit this morning, don’t know why my BGL is ok at 5.30 it was 5.1 and it was 22 degrees, it is supposed to be another hot day.

Tim and I went over to Lake Fair so Tim could get new work pants and shorts. I also went to the Reject shop and got a few things. After that we went and picked up the new air con.

It got hot a top temp of 32 degrees.

Sue made a chocolate cake and divided it between herself, Sandy and me, Tim tried it and really liked it, and Tim doesn’t as a rule eat cake. However, he does eat lamingtons which is cake.

Steps: 8,523

Another pretty good night, we are in for another stinking hot day with a temp of around 32 degrees. At the moment it is 19 degrees, I forgot to test my blood before eating so don’t know what that was.

I am feeling with it this morning and I am getting things done, little things around the house like vacuuming and hanging a few more Christmas decorations, cleaning the kitchen bench off and going online and modifying my grocery order for tomorrow. All in all, I am feeling good this morning.

I started to feel drained and worn out by lunch time, maybe I should have tried to have nap, but I didn’t.

When I went to meet Sam at 2pm it was 33 degrees.

I turned the air con off at 5.30pm but left the fans going as it wasn’t as hot.

Steps:10,122

Had a so-so night, took me a while to settle but once I did, I slept well, till the alarm went off. At the moment it is nice with the temp of 22 degrees my BGL was 5.1

By lunch time it was 31 degrees.

When I went to meet Sam, I saw Denni & Landon walking home from the high school, it was their orientation day. It was great seeing them.

While I was waiting it wasn’t that hot, it was very warm but not hot.

I was able to turn the air con off at 5.30 and open the doors and turn the ceiling fan on instead.

Steps: 4,696

Had a good night slept straight through, however, I woke with a headache which isn’t good.

It is a pleasant 22 degrees this morning my BGL was 5.5.

When I went up to the top of the driveway with Sam it was really windy, and the wind was on the cold side.

I turned the air con on at 12.30 only needed it on till 3pm.

It is 10.40pm and I woke up after about an hour or so sleep very restless, so I am using the powerfit before returning to bed.

Steps:7,782

After using the powerfit and returning to bed I slept well.

When I tried to ring Sam there was no answer, so I ended up ringing Jess who said that Sam wasn’t going to school as there was either the swimming carnival or sports carnival. I then sent Joel a text to make sure he knew Sam wasn’t going to school.

Sue drove me to the doctors and went to the post office for me and I went and got fresh bread.

Seems Sue told Tasha about a lady at Baker’s Delight that she felt had an issue with serving me, Sue said she gave me a dirty look and seemed annoyed that it took me so long to find the money for my purchase. I might add I didn’t notice anything, but I was focused on what I was doing and not falling over.

So, Tasha rang Baker’s Delight and lodged a complaint about the woman, as way of saying sorry I get a free loaf of bread and a Danish on my next visit. I don’t know how I feel about it all.

Steps:6,045

After another good night, I woke only when the alarm went off, Tim gets to sleep in as he doesn’t have to be up till 7am.

It is a lovely 21 degrees and my BGL is 4.8

I went with Sue so she could adopt a kitten, an 8-week-old male called Arti, she adopted it from a shelter in Maitland it was a 45-minute drive. There was a lot of paperwork to fill out, in fact she had to write her name, address, phone number and email address 8 times.

It has been a stinking hot with a top temp of 33 degrees.

Steps:2,000 (steps are low due to unstable knee and the heat)

I was unsettled last night till around midnight, so when the alarm went off, I got up and took my tablets and went back to bed. I hoped to stay there till around 6am, as Tim said he would drive me down to have blood taken at 7am and as it is a fasting test I can’t have anything to eat till after it is done.

Went and had blood taken there was 7 people in front of me, but it didn’t take to long.

Another sticky, muggy day, need the air con on early to suck the moisture out of the air.

Tim took Jess’s car for rego check which it passed, so she is happy about that.

Steps: 3,604

A bit about diabetes

This week we are looking at diabetes, I thought I had written about it before but couldn’t find one, so here is one.

Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the body doesn’t produce enough insulin or doesn’t use insulin properly, resulting in high blood sugar levels.

There are two main types of diabetes type one and type two but there is also Gestational diabetes which is diagnosed during pregnancy with a blood sugar test, however after giving birth this type often goes away. However, having it increases your chances of developing type two later on.

Type one is often diagnosed in childhood, but it can develop at any age. It’s less common than type 2 diabetes, affecting about 5–10% of people with diabetes. The exact cause is unknown, but it’s likely caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. No, you are not born with it as I have heard some people say.

Then there is type two with this one there isn’t a clear pattern of inheritance, but the risk increases with the number of affected family members. This is likely due to shared genetic factors and lifestyle influences, such as diet and exercise habits. Other risk factors include being overweight, having high blood pressure, and being older.

In both types of diabetes, sugar builds up in the bloodstream because the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin.

Symptoms of type 1 diabetes include:

  • Urination: Frequent urination, including bedwetting in children
  • Thirst: Excessive thirst
  • Weight loss: Unintentional weight loss
  • Hunger: Excessive hunger
  • Vision: Blurred vision
  • Fatigue: Feeling very tired
  • Skin: Very dry skin
  • Healing: Sores that heal slowly
  • Infections: More infections than usual
  • Nausea: Nausea, vomiting, or stomach pains
  • Mood: Feeling irritable or having other mood changes

Symptoms of type 1 diabetes can develop over a few weeks or months and can be severe. They typically start mild and get progressively worse.

Type 1 diabetes can be managed with lifestyle changes, blood glucose monitoring, and medications, such as insulin.

Symptoms of type 2 diabetes can include:

  • Thirst: Feeling very thirsty
  • Urination: Urinating more often than usual, particularly at night
  • Vision: Blurred vision
  • Fatigue: Feeling tired and lethargic
  • Weight: Unintentional weight loss or loss of muscle bulk
  • Healing: Slow-healing cuts, ulcers, sores, or other infections
  • Hunger: Increased hunger

Symptoms can be mild and may take many years to be noticed. Some people with type 2 diabetes may not have any symptoms at first.

As I don’t like doing really long posts I will split into two or three parts, so will end this here.

Week 48 of 2024

I had a great night, slept straight through, got up and had my shower and got dressed for the day.

Another hot day here had to turn the air con on around 2pm.

Kathy came over for a visit she was on her own, I asked her to change the sheets on my bed before she left which was much quicker than if I did it on my own.

I am not in a very happy mood today, don’t know why.

It is 11.20pm, I went to bed at 8.30 pretty much straight to sleep for an hour, when I had to pee, back to bed a back to sleep till 10.25 when I had to pee again had trouble get back to sleep then at 11.10, I had to pee again when I went back to bed the uncontrollable moving start so after 10 minutes I got up to use the powerfit and will sit up for half an hour before returning to bed and hopefully to sleep.

Steps: 10,209

I had a not so good night; I am starting this at 12.10am.

After returning to bed, I settled down and slept for 2hrs before needing to pee again, then back to sleep for another 1.5hrs till the alarm went off.

It is 18 degrees and my BGL is 5.0

I turned the air con on at 11.15am, when the temp reached 27 degrees.

I am so exhausted this afternoon; I am also drenched in sweat.

Steps: 8,488

A good night sleep went to bed at 8.30 and slept through till the alarm went off.

It is 18 degrees and my BGL is 5.0

Another very hot day with a top temp of 32 degrees.

Tasha was supposed to go to the shops for me but she didn’t so I asked Sue if she could take me down the road tomorrow, she said she would.

Tim is stressing out over how his diabetes is going to affect his driving authority. I told him worrying about it will not achieve anything and may make things worse.

Steps: 8,254

I slept well, Tim was already up when I got up, he said he had been up since unable to sleep.

Around 6am we had no water, it returned around 7.30am. it was 21 degrees at 6am and my BGL was 5.1.

Sue arrived just after 8am to take me to the shops, she said that Tasha rang her at 6.30 asking if she could go to Sue’s place for a shower before Sue drove4 her into the Tafe. Sue said she could.

By the time we had finished shopping and went back to the car it was stinking hot, we had been at the shops about an hour. I realised after I got home that I forgot to go to the post office, oh well I will do it later.

My walker isn’t the best with one wonky wheel that makes me worry it will come off and I will end up either falling over or becoming stuck while walking to and from the post box to post my letters off. So Tim suggested I swap to the old one that is out the back after some thought I agreed so Tim went and got it and it needed hosing off and there was a red back spider in the compartment under the seat. I suggested we swap the seat and the compartment under it around which is what we did. So, I will see how things go.

Steps: 7,156

Slept straight through the night again, woke up feeling heavy headed but that will pass, it is currently 22degrees and my BGL was 4.9

It was raining when I went up with Sam to meet the transport, but I had my red rain poncho on so all ok. It is very humid, and I had to turn the air con on as I was dripping in sweat while hanging the washing on the clothes hoists to dry. It is now 9.30am and 27 degrees.

By around 10.30 I was able to turn the air con off, but I left the doors closed and curtain drawn which kept the house cool enough.

This afternoon I was cleaning the sliding glass doors so I can put my Christmas decorations on them and slipped my thongs on to walk outside. However, as I have a habit of not always picking my feet up when I walk, I stumbled twice in them and once due to my feet being so sweaty so three times in all. So, when I went to meet Sam, I put on some thin stocking socks and walked up shoeless, thus being much more stable.

Steps: 6,761

Slept straight through the night again, woke up feeling heavy headed but that will pass, it is currently 22degrees and my BGL was 4.9

It is a lovely cool morning, I, slept all, I got up once to pee but straight back to sleep.

At 5.30am it was 20 degrees and my BGL was 4.8.

The top temp was only 24 degrees, but it has been a very humid day.

I had just ironed Tim’s work shirts and was just sitting at the computer when I started to feel off, I tested my blood it was 3.2. So, I got up and walked into the kitchen for food, I hadn’t had lunch yet. I quickly realised I was not right; I don’t know how long I stood in the kitchen just not with it. I walked back into the lounge room and picked up the phone and just looked at it for a bit before I rang Tasha. She came straight down and dished up my fruit I was having for lunch, topped up my drink watched me eat a bit. When I started to look better, she left. I was fine after I ate.

I even managed to put Christmas decorations on the sliding

doors.

Steps:8,246

Week 47 of 2024

It is 12.50am, I went to bed at 9pm but fully fall asleep I dosed on and off till midnight when I got up to pee. I decided to use the powerfit and now I am starting today’s diary enter as even though I am tired I don’t know if I will fall asleep, so I am staying up for a bit.

I went back to bed at 2am slept ok and when the alarm went off at 5am I got up. The temp is 19 degrees and my BGL is 5.1

At around 8am I went back to bed for an hour; after getting up Tim and I went to the shops.

I have done bugga all today, Tim did cut my hair though.

LEIGH’S BIRTHDAY

I had a good night slept well and woke to a cold wet morning so different from yesterday.

It is 19 degrees and my BGL is 5.0

I walked up with Sam in the rain, thankfully I have my rain poncho, so I didn’t get wet.

Jess came down and said she would take me to Kmart tomorrow to look at dresses.

It stopped raining and warmed up.

I decided I would do a load of washing and hang it up before I go to bed.

Steps:6,950

I had a good night slept well, however, while taking my morning meds I had problems swallowing and this resulted in tablets melting in my mouth, not nice.

It is 18 degrees and fine, my BGL was 4.8. like

Jess and I went to Kmart she bought me a couple of dresses and a nightie she also paid for my face cream.

Blain was supposed to be coming home today but he overslept and missed his flight. Tasha said she has no idea when he will be able to come home since neither her nor Jono have money to pay for his flight.

Tried on the dresses one is perfect and one is a bit big, I am going to see if I can find someone to go and exchange it for me.

Steps: 9,170

I had another good night the temp this morning was 16 degrees and my BGL was 5.2.

I am feeling energic this morning wonder how long that will last.

Sam brought down her mother’s heavy fluoro work jacket and asked me if it could go in the washing machine, we checked the label, and it said do not machine wash. So, I told her to leave it with me, I washed it in the washing machine, but I know how to change the settings so was done on a quick delicate wash.

I sent both Sydney-May and Summer a message this morning, asking how the holiday is going, both replied which was nice. I had a long voice message from Summer, Syd sent a written message it was good hearing from them.

Steps: 9,111

I had another good night the temp this morning was 16 degrees and my BGL was 4.9

It turned out to be a nice day I have done very little as just not a lot of motivation today

Steps:6,884

I had another good night the temp this morning was 16 degrees and my BGL was 4.9

I felt great this morning and managed to not only vacuum and clean the bathroom and my computer desk. I also cleaned the sliding glass doors.

Tim suggested we got to the Eastern Tiger for lunch tomorrow and suggested we ask Sue if she would like to come, she does so I made a booking for 11.30am tomorrow.

Realise when I was folding up the new blue dress to go in a bag that it is size 18 not a 16, we went by what was on the hanger and didn’t look at the dress.

Got the Christmas decorations out and will put the up over the weekend.

I went to bed at 9pm but at 10.20pm I got up and used the powerfit as I was restless.

Steps: 9,894

I am having a shocking night, it is 1.15am and I have little to no sleep, if I did does off at any point, I am unaware of it. At 1am I got fed up with the tossing and turning and decided t get up for a while. Thankfully today is Saturday so if I need to go back to bed after I take my 5am meds I can.

Yeah, I did go back to bed for an extra hour, after taking my meds. I felt ok when I got up.

Tim, Sue and I went to the Eastern Tiger for lunch that was great. After lunch I went and exchanged the dress that was a size to big.

The first thing I did after getting home was turn the air con on, it was 30 degrees in the house. It is now around 25 degrees inside the house.

I am feeling worn out and drained and a little sad, nothing that I can put my finger on.

My steps are low today as with the heat and feeling worn out and tired I just didn’t do much.

Week 46 of 2024

I slept right through the night and woke up tired, what is with that, it’s so damn annoying when that happens.

It is 16 degrees this morn my BGL was 5.0

It did get pretty warm but with front and back doors opened it was nice inside. Although by 5pm it started to get pretty cool in fact I started to get cold and asked Tim to turn the fan   off which annoyed him. I had to go and put some longer pants on.

I found myself real tired around midday so had lunch and folded clothes and put them away tried to do something online, it wasn’t working so gave up and exercised instead then I went to meet Sam now trying to decide what I want to do next.

The plumber came to fix Jessica’s toilet, it turned out that the problem was tree roots, he said he was putting a report into housing as the problem will return, he did say what has to be done but I don’t remember what he said.

Sam walked in at 7am she spent some time here before going home to get ready for school and returned at 7.40am. I walked up with Sam as it looked like it might rain again.

No rain till after Sam got home from school, so a nice day with a top temp of 22 degrees.

Sue and I went over to Lake Fair and did some shopping, I bought a pair of denim shorts, some light weight pj bottoms which I will wear as house pants and a pair of black slip of dress shoes all fit although the shoes  are tight across the toes but I will wear them around the house for a few minutes at a time to stretch them a bit.

It warmed up enough to wear shorts when I got home from shopping.

Insomnia Help List

Ok here were with that list of things that are supposed to help with insomnia, how many of then actually help I do not know

Create a sleep-friendly bedroom: Keep your bedroom dark, quiet, and cool. You can use curtains, blinds, an eye mask, or ear plugs. Yes, I sleep in such a room

Stick to a sleep schedule: Go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, even on weekends. Yes, I do that as well

Avoid electronics before bed: The light from TVs and smartphones can disrupt your sleep cycle. Yep, do this too

Exercise regularly: Try to get at least 5 to 6 hours of physical activity during the day. No bloody way I am that active during the day

Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol: These substances can make it harder to sleep. Can’t say I do this, but I don’t have a lot of caffeine

Avoid naps: Naps, especially in the afternoon, can make it harder to fall asleep at night. I get this but sometimes I am so tired I have to close my eyes for a bit

Relax before bed: Try reading a book, listening to music, or taking a bath. Nope don’t do any of these things

Manage stress: Try writing down your worries before bed. I generally just hand my worries over to God when I go to bed

Check your medications: Some medications can contribute to insomnia. I am on top of this, and not an issue with me

Try relaxation techniques: Try meditation, imagery, or muscle relaxation. Yeah, I often meditate when going to bed

Use magnesium: Magnesium can help muscles relax and relieve stress. I do take magnesium

Try massage: You can try self-massage or have a partner or friend give you a massage. Nope never tried this

Get out of bed if you can’t sleep: If you can’t fall asleep within 20 minutes, get up and do something non-stimulating until you feel drowsy. Yes, I do this as well

Ok how many of these tips do you do?
