POEM DAY

In Our Hearts

We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that, too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have are memories
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.

  1. Dearest Jo-Anne,
Yes, it is far more important to think about our loved ones BEFORE they pass on…
So many people seem to forget about that and put it off till there is no more chance!
Coming to a funeral is not about the loved one that went to heaven, but only for those that remain here.
May more people come to realize that a kind word, a call, a visit, a letter, a card is all it takes to reach someone’s heart. To avoid feeling lonely or abandoned.
Sadly so many younger people even commit suicide and that at an era of so–called ‘communication’…
    Hugs,
    Mariette
