Hello Friday, today I am asking what do others think of milk, I like a class of chocolate milk each morning with my breakfast but have no liking for plain milk.
While talking to Kathy-Lee the other morning she said milk isn’t that good for us and flavoured milk even less so. I don’t get that she wasn’t raised to think that way.
My Mum would always say if you don’t feel like food have a class of milk or better yet have a egg-flip. If you are unfamiliar with the term egg-flip it is just a milkshake with an egg in it. Mum would make it in whatever flavour we wanted, chocolate, strawberry or caramel.
I also would make egg-flips for my daughters in different flavours but Kathy doesn’t do anything like that for her girls. I know Jessica has always given milk to Sam who now at 15yrs old likes a large class of Milo. I believe Tasha use to give Blain egg-flips when he was younger.
Dearest Jo-Anne,
Well, in my younger–working years (lots of lifting) I drank one liter bottle of chocolate milk a day. LOVED it and also loved to make hot chocolate from Dutch Droste cocoa with a dollup of whipped cream and sprinkled with cocoa (from a small silver pepper shaker).
Now with my chronic kidney stage of only 25% function I have to avoid all milk products… they’re too high in potassium.
For that very same reason your Mum was right! We never heard of an egg–flip. My Dad would at times just whip up a raw egg and eat that—guess due to his heavy physical work.
Those are very old wisdoms from our ancestors being passed on maybe for ages…
Nowadays the young generation does not have a clue and all they love to consume is the loaded with sugar drinks…
Got some Prednisone from my orthodontic surgeon and my appointment for a right shoulder MRI is being set (my insurance had to approve of it first) so we will find out on March 22 if my rotator cuff is injured and what next.
Got rid of my knee immobilizer as my cracked knee cap has not shifted. If it doesn’t happen the first 2 days it won’t happen he said. Happy with that freedom—regardless the pain. Now Pieter is shopping for a stationary bike for using that in combination with the Prednisone for 6 days to remove the fluids from all the swelling…
Every day is one!
Took a good nap and that feels good.
Hugs,
Mariette
I also enjoy a hot chocolate in the cooler months and yeah the young today often think older people know bugga all but I guess that is how its always been
Jo-Anne,
As I am searching for a good stationary bike for helping with the swelling in my legs from the accident I came across this:
Parkinson’s Disease
Doctors have began to recognize the benefits of cycling for Parkinsons Disease patients. In particular, high cadence riding has shown to have the most benefit. The Ortho Pedal allows you to ride at a higher cadence by bringing the pedals closer to the center of the pedal stroke. The smaller pedal strokes can also benefit Parkinsons patients with limited range of motion.
Maybe helpful…
Hugs,
Mariette
I didn’t know this so thank you for telling me, I will look into it
Too bad I never can leave any link here… then it will NOT post!
That’s annoying
😒
