Well today is Good Friday here in my part of the world so today’s thoughts are about Easter.
As a child I remember getting nice Easter Eggs on Easter Sunday but do not remember any Easter Egg hunts, although I hide my own daughters Easter Eggs. However, I used to label each egg with their initial, so there were no fights or one getting more then the others. My girls never thought it odd that the Easter Bunny would label their eggs.
I am no longer a church going person but I still do not eat meat on Good Friday in fact I only had meat one Good Friday back when I first met Tim as I forgot it was Good Friday.
As some will know my dad past away on Easter Sunday in 2019 so despite the date Easter Sunday will always be a bitter sweet day for my family.
Dearest Jo–Anne,
Well, as a child I do remember that Mom & Dad did hide eggs for us…
Smart for labeling them and it worked without raising any suspicion!
True, on any day we lose a loved one, that memory will be engraved in our mind till our very last day.
Yet, Easter is a special day about New Life!
Today I sang in the chancel choir—first time in 6 weeks + 2 days.
Made me SO happy and Pieter came to listen to us at the Tenebrae service.
Very meaningful and we sure hope that we did touch the lives of others.
Tomorrow I will be on duty again at the noon service of Good Friday, being a reader and extinguishing a candle. Then more reading at the 3:00 PM service about the 7 last words of Jesus. So proud that I can make it up the stairs again (in fact is a lot easier than going down…) and that my stability has improved. Hope to have gained more than 6 oz or 200 grams of the previous week—trying so hard to eat well.
Next week will be my 3rd week of OT and PT… Hard to believe that time is passing fast!
Of course you’re not a Church goer in your condition! There are lots of able bodied people that ought to go.
Happy Easter to you and yours!
Hugs,
Mariette
I often find it is easier going upstairs easier then down them. It must have felt good to sing in the choir again
So you encounter the same problem Jo-Anne.
You bet it felt good and I was so happy and also proud for having come this far…
May you have a peaceful Easter, remembering your father and be surrounded by those you love. ❤
Than you I will try to have a good Easter
